The Australian Commonwealth Government has committed AUD 56.1 million over four years to implement digital arrival declarations. Arriving passengers will complete biosecurity and customs declarations online prior to landing rather than filling out physical yellow cards.
2. Successful Qantas Trial Phase
The digital passenger declaration system underwent a rigorous two-year pilot program on selected international Qantas flights arriving into Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, demonstrating substantial airport clearance efficiency.
3. Nationwide Rollout Timeline
Over the next 12 to 18 months, digital arrival declarations will expand across all major international airports and seaports in preparation for increasing international passenger flows ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.
