Course Description

This qualification reflects the role of a solid plasterer who applies plastering materials to a variety of surfaces, restores and renovates plasterwork, and applies various finishes in residential and commercial environments. Students will gain the skills necessary to work safely and effectively in the construction industry, including surface preparation, the use of plastering tools and equipment, and the interpretation of plans and specifications. This certificate prepares students for practical work in solid plastering and construction.

Curriculum

There are no mandatory entry requirements for this qualification. However, for international students and to ensure effective participation, the following conditions are recommended:

  • Minimum 18 years of age at the time of enrollment
  • Completion of Australian Year 12 or equivalent
  • Minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent
  • All applicants must meet the Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) competencies relevant to the course prior to enrollment. The institution will conduct an LLND assessment if students do not hold equivalent proof.
  • Students must bring a compatible personal laptop/computer to support learning and assessment activities.

Further Study Pathways

After successfully completing the Certificate III in Solid Plastering, individuals may continue their studies into:

  • CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building)
  • CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building)
  • Or other trade certificates / diploma qualifications related to building and construction.

RPL and Credit Transfer

  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): Considered through the assessment of previously acquired skills, knowledge, and work experience.
  • Credit Transfer: Applicable when previous study programs are equivalent and meet course requirements.
