What Is AusAlert?

AusAlert is Australia’s next-generation public warning architecture engineered to rapidly transmit critical information during severe emergencies, including:

• Bushfires and catastrophic fire conditions.
• Flash flooding and severe riverine inundations.
• Severe storms, cyclones, and extreme weather events.
• Critical public safety and evacuation advisories.

What to Expect During the Test

During localized testing windows, compatible mobile devices within designated test zones will vibrate distinctly, sound an audible warning tone, and display a temporary on-screen notification clarifying that this is an AusAlert System Test requiring no public action.
